Resources and Theology
[USA]
Adam and Steve. Hardly a UK resource, but if you need cheering up, read this whacky comic strip (for guys) from an American church.
"But the Bible says..."? A Catholic reading of Romans 1 [UK]
By celebrated theologian, James Alison.
Big Bash Company [UK]
Celebration designers for civil partnerships, church blessings and other events.
Centre for the Study
of Christianity and Sexuality [UK]
"CSCS provides opportunities for sexuality to be discussed honestly
and openly, and aims to help others in the churches to provide similar
opportunities."
Emerging Church [UK]
A TOUCHING PLACE FOR THE EMERGING CHURCH
Beyondexgay.com [USA]
" An on-line community and resource for those of us who have survived ex-gay experiences...Our kinship in this journey gives us the opportunity to hear each other..., particularly in a world that sometimes scoffs at the many things we have done to change or contain our same-sex attractions and gender differences. Many of us have found healing, wholeness and understanding through facing our pasts. This is your space to connect with other survivors, read survivor narratives and to share your own." [Includes multimedia resources.]
[CANADA]
The Gay Christian (Radio) Network (based in Canada, and serving North
America). A very useful resource with downloadable radio shows, Bible
studies, sermons, debate thread message boards, and a link to help you
find a welcoming Church near you if you are in the States. A good website
to visit even if you are never likely to go to North America.
Reluctant Journey
(book, website) [UK]
George Hopper's Website
"a retired scientist/engineer, local preacher and inclusive christian,
married to Carol until June 2002, when she died ; we have children and
grandchildren. In 1992 I went from being anti-gay to a simple ministry
of friendship, support and christian love, for lesbian and gay christians,
especially. My wife soon followed and we made many good, kind christian
friends from the gay community. Why did this happen? We were/are not gay,
and none of our family or extended family are gay!"
Ship of Fools [UK]
"The magazine of Christian unrest".
TruthSetsFree.net is an educational website established to provide free distribution of Justin R. Cannon's recently published study 'The Bible, Christianity, & Homosexuality' which looks closely at the six Bible clobber passages used to condemn gays. He also explores homosexuality within the context of Christian tradition. This is a US-based ministry serving a similar Bible study resource to George Hopper's website, but written in a different style.
